Formaldehyde Process Used For New Plants
FeMoCat provides complete technical Know-How and design / engineering for FA37/FA55 plants in the capacity range (67 MTPD-400 MTPD) or equivalent Urea Formaldehyde Concentrate (UFC85) based on Excess Air (Iron Oxide Catalyst) process. Formaldehydes are produced by Catalytic Oxidation of Methanol. A basic process flow diagram is shown below:
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS FOR FORMALDEHYDE (FA – 37/FA55 )
The designed/engineer plants have the capability to produce Formaldehyde (FA -37 / 55) product specified below:
Composition, wt%
Formaldehyde (HCHO)
37.00 – 55.00
Methanol (CH3OH)
<1.0
Formic Acid (HCOOH)
<0.05
Water (H2O)
Balance
Various stabilized grades of Aq. Formaldehyde (i.e. 37% concentration Formaldehyde with varying stabilizing Methanol content of 0.40 % to 12 % and 55% concentration Formaldehyde) can be produced in the PLANT.
FeMoCat has a General Coorperation Agreement with established companies for the Formaldehyde Process and downstreams.
